3 Pitfalls to Social Media Marketing

Organizations today are getting better with Social Media but we can always continue to improve our game.  Use the following three tips to significantly impact your social media performance.

Don't Lose Site

As with life, none of us want to be forgotten.  Too often, businesses are focused on building large lists of followers and friends in the social media landscape.  However, they quickly forget that each user is unique and came to them for a reason.  Keep track of the different promotions and ideas that you write about and that attract customers.  It is important to revisit concepts and ideas as your loyal followers might need more information about the original idea that brought them to your social presence.

Engage Your Users

Do your best to keep the users in your social space engaged.  Create offerings, polls, and interactions to keep them coming back for more.  It is not an uncommon situation for companies to lose site of interaction as their social media begins to payoff.  Companies get busy and forget about the processes which originally helped them gain success.

Stay Real

Real people, real thoughts!!  It is not always about writing the best marketing pitch.  It is important to stay real with your customer base.  Write some musings or funny stories which you have encountered.  Do not be afraid to tell them things about you or your company which helps them to further become attracted to your uniqueness.  Humdrum content is so 'old school'.
